下崙居民大多務農，因早期鄉下地方沒有什麼零食可吃，王龍杰（1946年生）乃想到要利用當地生產的米穀製粿來賣，而開始在市場設攤賣起炸粿來，沒想到這一賣就是 30 多年，直到 2009 年因年紀大了，才由兒子王嘉和（1980 年生）克紹其裘。炸粿的粿要在前一天下午製作，其作法是：在來米浸泡3小時，磨成米漿，加入調味料及少量砂糖，攪拌後倒入蒸籠，炊煮 6 個小時，起鍋，用電風扇吹3 個小時令其冷卻，放入冰箱備用。剛炊好的粿水分較多，放冰箱有收水的效果。由於粿中沒放其他東西，當地人稱之為「清粿」。隔日清早，將清粿推送到賣場，先切片，再下平底鍋雙面油炸至金黃色，即可起鍋，切塊裝袋外帶。外帶時會附帶一小包
