At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District, there stands a monument marking the former site of the Mengjia Water Fairy Temple. In the past, Mengjia grew into a commercially prosperous settlement relying on water transportation. In order to pray for the safety of navigation and water transportation, the Mengjia suburban merchants built the temple during the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty. The temple's main deity was Yu the Great (Emperor Yu). Later, the old temple was destroyed, and the Japanese government implemented urban planning. As a result, the temple was demolished and relocated, marking the end of its history.
