The National Taiwan University College of Law located on Xu Zhou Road was originally the campus of Taipei High Commercial School during the Japanese rule. The architectural style is exquisite Western classical style. The school gate is constructed of sandstone produced in Taipei, with copper lamps on top, and a simple and rustic appearance. The courtyard inside the gate still has a pond and garden. The administrative building is in a gorgeous Baroque style. Looking from the front of the building, one can see elegant Greek columns and semi-circular arches. The roof is covered with Japanese black tiles. The combination of Chinese and Western ideas and ingenuity has a unique aesthetic. As for the interior, the Great Hall has a large span, and the lectern and seats are mostly original, which is particularly valuable. The building has a courtyard with four connected houses, and a well in the center. The well and campus are full of greenery, and flowers, plants and ponds complement each other. All these constitute a quiet and elegant picture, which is worth preserving and cherishing.
