Pacific Park encompasses both the southern and northern shores. The Southern Shore Park once housed the Southern Shore Night Market, which had served Hualien residents and visitors for 28 years before relocation. After the market vacated, a restoration project was completed, presenting a brand-new face to visitors from all over. For many locals, the coastline of the southern and northern shores has always been a cherished secret spot for ocean views. After the redevelopment, improvements focused on enhanced green landscaping and, most importantly, the removal of artificial reefs previously used to prevent coastal erosion. These were replaced with a natural engineering method using large boulders to form a natural seawall, transforming the coastline into an international-level scenic vista. Southwest Park is created by connecting several green spaces, punctuated by indigenous-style clubhouses and decorations, with a dedicated bike path running right along the seashore. Although the Northern Shore Park has a smaller land area than its southern counterpart, the planned beach volleyball courts have become a favorite among young people. Combining the southern and northern shore parks creates a short cycling tour route, constructing Hualien city's beautiful coastal charm. Pacific Park is vibrant throughout both day and night. During the day, visitors can ride bicycles, watch the ocean, and take leisure walks. By night, activities center around dining, listening to the waves, and stargazing. Transforming the park into a theme park for public enjoyment, it preserves natural coastal terrain and plant restoration. Additionally, it provides facilities for family theatrical performances, street artists, indigenous dance performances, and events such as the Amis Cultural Festival. On holiday periods, the park also hosts markets selling agricultural products and showcases the integration of premium lifestyle industries, cultural and creative industries, and green technology activities.
