We’re not a newspaper office but a newly opened brunch spot.
If you haven’t done your homework and simply follow your GPS to Oasis Brunch, you might question your life choices the moment you look up—“Why does it say ‘Taiwan Times’?” And what’s with the “Chiayi County Medical Supplies Cooperative” sign on the wall?
The owner, originally from Chiayi and a food-and-beverage veteran, saw the rise of leisure travel and decided to open a relaxing brunch place in increasingly popular Chiayi City. After chancing upon this old building and signing the lease, he discovered it had passed through many hands. While renovating, he uncovered the original “Taiwan Times” façade and chose to keep it, adding nostalgic charm to the café.
Oasis specializes in hearty, quality brunch platters. The “miso-roasted chicken leg” is a must-order—one portion comes with two legs, abundant sides, and is both nutritious and delicious. The servings are so generous they practically spill off the plate, making the prices feel like a bargain. Don’t miss the 100% house-made pudding; its silky, gentle texture comes from a pricier secret ingredient—pure goodwill.
