The owner says he wants to revive the nostalgic street snacks of yesteryear, passing on the beautiful flavors locked in memory. In Taiwan today, grabbing a bite is easy—open your door and there’s a food stall on the left, a noodle shop on the right—yet finding a dish crafted with traditional skill is much harder. Unlike ordinary noodle stands, Chuan-Xiang Gourmet spotlights the sticky-rice sausage that fifth- and sixth-graders once munched while watching open-air opera at temple fairs, using food to whisk everyone back to their youthful days.
