About Wei Rong SAUCE CO: Hidden in a small alley in Fengyuan, the savory aroma of Wei Rong’s sauces has been maturing for over 70 years. This rich and thick flavor has been slowly developed over time, just like a fine wine. The company was founded by Mr. Hsu Huo-lien in 1945 as the first professional brewing production factory in central Taiwan. They produced miso, red yeast, and soybean paste products using local Taiwanese crops. In 1976, Mr. Hsu Tsung-lin took over and introduced production lines for black bean soy sauce and pickled vegetable cans. In 1999, the third generation, Mr. Hsu Li-sheng, standardized the production process and successfully introduced "food safety," "organic brewing," and "industrial tourism," breaking through the traditional industry framework and enhancing the brand value. Wei Rong established the first Miso Brewing Culture Museum in Taiwan to continue the spirit of Taiwanese brewing culture and promote local characteristic cultural crafts and agricultural products. Through hands-on activities with the five senses and the concept of a "mobile museum," they strive to contribute to the revitalization and prosperity of the region. The building’s exterior is constructed using eco-friendly green architecture concepts. The museum showcases century-old antique cypress wood barrels, wooden koji boxes, and introduces the origins, history, and types of early brewing foods. This helps people understand miso and various brewing foods and provides safer, richer, and healthier kitchen sauces and cultural creative souvenirs.
