The two-story building with gray-white walls and green tiles is the Penghu Aquarium. It is located in Qitou Village, Baisha Township, Penghu, and was expanded from the original Fisheries Research Institute. The museum is planned with exhibition areas such as coastal ecology, coral reef pools, and open ocean ecology. Among them, the most striking is the 14-meter-long arched underwater tunnel. You can walk through the tunnel and enjoy various marine life. Directly across from the aquarium's main gate is a wavy seawall that stretches straight out to the Taiwan Strait. It was originally built by a Japanese pearl farming company as a farming area. Due to the unique wavy shape of the seawall, it attracts many tourists to take photos. However, if you want to take photos in the azure waters, remember to check the tidal schedule and choose the right high tide time; otherwise, you'll only have a wet mudflat under your feet! On the east side of the aquarium, there is a Qitou Water Park designed with tidal differences. It includes a tidal zone walking area, a circular tidal pool, and children's playground equipment, allowing adults and children to observe tidal zone organisms and understand tidal effects together. It is an educational and recreational area.
