Located opposite the Taichung Harbor Art Center, the "Taichung Qingshui Village Cultural Park" is the former military dependents' village, Xinyi New Village. It is one of the 13 "Cultural Preservation Zones for Old Military Dependents' Villages" approved by the Ministry of National Defense. The park spans 6.25 hectares, with the Zhongshe archaeological site located underground and the above-ground structures forming a "settlement building complex". The complex preserves the organic "growth" of the military dependents' village, including various types of officer residences, landscaping, and rice field landscapes. Across the street, a renovated military dependents' building stands, showcasing a comprehensive collection of different types of military dependents' villages. As you walk along the undulating rooftops and narrow alleys, you feel as though you're traversing a time tunnel, adding intellectual and interesting aspects to cultural tourism. In recent years, the park has undergone phased restoration. After restoration, it will continue to maintain the living context of the military dependents' village and infuse the park with characteristic elements of military dependents' villages, art, and archaeological sites. This will translate and present the historical and emotional memories that have occurred in this space, recreating a new look and culture for the military dependents' village.
