The Asia University Museum of Modern Art's main building is composed of exposed concrete and curtain walls, with an indoor area of 1,244 pings and an outdoor area of 6,000 pings. Designed by architect Tadao Ando, the building's design is based on the equilateral triangle, with the triangular floor plan divided into three layers and stacked to form an irregular number of triangles. The atrium spaces and outdoor platforms created by the staggered displacement will be transformed into different functional areas such as sculpture platforms and outdoor cafes. In response to the geographical conditions of the earthquake-prone region, the museum's columns are all "傾斜" (tilted), constructed from V-shaped steel frames, and the resulting spaces and curtain wall scenery are also triangular. The V-shaped steel frames support the cantilevered eaves, creating a covered space that serves as an entrance passage and a resting garden facing the plaza. In this avant-garde and challenging bold architecture, the exterior is low-key, serene, and pure, while the interior is precise and calm. Tadao Ando strives to bring people, art, and nature together and in dialogue.
