新北市坪林區(坪林國中後方山頂上)
Located on the mountain peak behind Pinglin Junior High School, this site was originally the location of a Shinto shrine during the Japanese occupation period, and later it was rebuilt into the Guanyin Terrace. There is a trail leading to the Guanyin Terrace, which stands 40 feet tall. Situated in the center of a 21-meter-diameter circular scenic plaza, the Guanyin statue, including the lotus seat, stands approximately 11 meters tall, facing south towards the layered mountains, symbolizing the long-lasting blessings for the people. It is not only a landmark in Pinglin but also the tallest bronze Guanyin statue in northern Taiwan. By following the trail to Guanyin Terrace, you can see the "Si Yuan Terrace" across from it, which is opposite to the Mazu statue in the tea suburb, protecting the people in the tea countryside. Since you've come here, why not take a longer walk to exercise? Moreover, from this vantage point, you can see the North Yilan Highway and the Xue Shan Tunnel, offering a superb view.
