The Lin投 Japanese Army Landing Monument is a monument erected to commemorate the landing of Japanese forces in Lin投 during the 1895 invasion of Taiwan. The monument stands over ten meters tall and has an octagonal base. It is constructed from granite, surrounded by a wall made of cat stone, and consists of three main sections. The monument covers an area of approximately 434 square meters. Established on March 23, 1924, at a cost of over 1,000 yen, the original inscription on the monument read "Meiji 28th Year Naval Combined Landing Force Commemoration Monument," signed by Captain Yoshida of the Yokosuka Naval Base and Penghu Governor Takeshita. After Japan's defeat in World War II, the monument was taken over by the Nationalist government, and the inscription was changed to "Taiwan Recovery Monument" then later renamed as "Victory in the War of Resistance Monument". The monument is currently the earliest surviving monument related to the Japanese invasion of Taiwan. 【Suggested stay time】0.5 hours
