The Sanban Bridge, located at the upstream section of the Dacun Stream in the Sanzhi District of New Taipei City, spans across the Dacun Stream and consists of three sections, all constructed using stone slabs. The bridge remains hidden beneath the new "Sande Bridge" and measures approximately 18 meters in length and 1.3 meters in width. During the Qing Dynasty, it served as a vital route for residents from Jinshan, Shimen, and Sanzhi mountainous areas to travel to Tamsui. As transportation developed, the Taipei County Government (now New Taipei City) built a new bridge, the "Sande Bridge," in 1933 to facilitate pedestrian and vehicular traffic. According to the "Sande Bridge Construction Chronicle" beside the bridge, the bridge's structure is divided into three sections using stone slabs, hence its name "Sanban Bridge." The bridge deck can be divided into seven sections, with four sections spanning across the valley consisting of three stone slabs arranged side by side, with the longest length reaching approximately 400 cm. The three sections on the bridge piers are constructed with transverse laying. The bridgehead columns of the Sanban Bridge were originally made of wood and suffered damage from frequent flooding of the stream. Renovations were made in the 14th year of the Tongzhi reign, converting it into a stone bridge, as inscribed on the bridgehead columns. The bridge has three piers, constructed by stacking large stones to support the bridge deck with long stones, measuring approximately 20x25 cm in cross-section. It is also the entrance to the ancient Dacun Stream trail in Beixinzhuang.
