In 1945, after the Japanese were repatriated, the villa was taken over by the Taichung City Government and used as the mayor's official residence. In 2016, the Hongdao Elderly Welfare Foundation, in response to Taichung City's elderly care policy and the revitalization of historical buildings, adopted the concept of "Silver Innovation Participation" to create "Dreams Never Fade No. 125."
