The original earth-block building was preserved and transformed into a two-story restaurant with creative touches. The park is filled with handmade tables and chairs created by Ma, providing a place for people to rest and relax. A unique children's playground was built, featuring a slide, swing, balance beam, sandbox, and rocking chair, among other things. Ma's goal was to bring joy and laughter to children, and now the island is filled with vitality and happiness. The Maozai Dun Story Island, spanning over 1.03 hectares, is a venue for group gatherings and family outdoor activities. The island boasts special garden landscapes, stream-side scenery, interesting activities, rich ecology, delicious set meals, and a relaxed atmosphere. The venue also features a children's playground with a variety of play equipment, including a slide, swing, and sandbox. Adults can accompany their children while they play, and parents can take a break and enjoy a cup of tea or conversation while watching their children play. The island is safe and flat, making it an ideal place for families to spend time together. The concept of Maozai Dun is centered around "nature, ecology, environmental protection, and education." Ma designed and built the island himself, incorporating every aspect of the island, from the architecture to the natural surroundings, with a focus on aesthetics and harmony with nature. No pesticides are used, ensuring the integrity of the biological chain. The construction of the island's facilities utilizes local materials and recycled waste, such as using cinnamon tree leaves for tea or drying them for later use. The island's trees, like longan and lychee trees, are used to create a natural and ecological environment. The island's activities include traditional DIY kiln-fired cooking, stone-grilled meat, guided tours, ecological film screenings, and more. Groups of 10 or more people can make reservations for kiln-fired cooking or stone-grilled meat. The island's unique kiln-fired stone-grilled meat is cooked using tree branches as fuel, resulting in less ash and faster cooking times.
