Seeds that drifted south sprouted a market. The founder of Sansiao Market is a child from Taipei; what began as a graduation project grew, through relentless effort and practice, into Yunlin’s local food-education hub. Together with the county government’s “Sansiao Farmers’ Market,” it is both a youth start-up and a champion of fair agricultural trade. For six uninterrupted years Sansiao Market has hosted a weekly local, eco-friendly farmers’ market in Taiwan’s agricultural heartland of Yunlin. Its mission: promote environmentally friendly farming and food-and-farm education. Guided by the principle of “sharing,” it strives to let more people discover Yunlin’s fine people, stories, and produce. Every Sunday the farmers’ market opens fresh. Market events invite local growers to share experiences and run hands-on farm classes, leading visitors to crops while spreading the ethos of friendly food. Field activities let visitors take part in farm work, feel the toil of farming, and create direct dialogue between producers and consumers. A dedicated shop supplies fresh produce and food-and-farm services, and the quarterly *Yunlin Food Letter* magazine—buy the issue, get the ingredients—makes the platform perfect for modern families to join a Community-Supported Agriculture community!
