The old oil depot machinery room, which had been abandoned for many years and had experienced 60 years of history, was located next to the first fishing port in Tamsui. On February 14, 2007, it was transformed into the "Tamsui Fisheries Life Culture Image Gallery" with white walls and green windows. In front of the gallery, a green vintage large mailbox stands, and inside, the walls still retain the red old oil pumps used for fishing boat refueling. The gallery displays many black and white Tamsui landscape postcards, which are the long-term photographic works of the gallery owner, A-Zhong. These photos express A-Zhong's deep affection for Tamsui, capturing the town's past and present. Outside the gallery, one can enjoy the scenery of "Yuhang Shadow Bank", one of Tamsui's eight scenic spots. For over 20 years, A-Zhong has been carrying a camera to wander around the streets and alleys, recording the changes in the town with images. He shoots with a storytelling mindset, capturing scenes of fishermen, fishing, and riverside landscapes. He has turned his years of black and white photography into postcards for exhibition and sale. Visitors to the gallery are also welcome to write their thoughts and feelings for friends and family on the postcards, allowing the beauty of Tamsui to be delivered to people all over the world.
