高雄市永安區永安路49號
Yong'an Palace faces southeast to northwest, with a vast temple grounds covering over 300 ping. The architectural style follows the traditional three-hall, five-door, three-courtyard design. The ridge decorations of the front hall feature double dragons ascending to heaven, with divine generals riding on a blue dragon. The middle horizontal beams are adorned with colorful phoenixes spreading their wings, and the figures depicted are incredibly lifelike. The side horizontal beams feature leaping blue dragons, full of divine energy. The ridge ends are decorated with dragon and phoenix motifs, and the single-dragon pillars, carved in intricate detail, support the palace's platform. The pillars are lined with carvings of people and birds, while the walls depict a lively "Array of Ten Thousand Immortals." The main hall enshrines the Heavenly Holy Mother, the rear hall houses the Bodhisattva Guanyin, and the second floor is dedicated to Buddhist and Taoist deities. Visitors to Yong'an Palace can appreciate not only the rich plaster sculptures but also some interesting little details. For example, upon entering the temple, the flower canopy above the worship hall hangs a plaque inscribed with "永庇平安" (Eternal Peace and Protection), symbolizing the spirit of Yong'an. Additionally, the couplets on the temple gates contain a subtle playful element. The content of the couplets is: "聖德配天薄海恩深垂永日,母儀稱后長江浪靜慶安瀾." This couplet differs from the common format where the temple's name is embedded in the first character of each line. Instead, the first characters of the upper and lower couplets together form "聖母" (Holy Mother), while the temple's name is hidden in the second-to-last character. This simple couplet subtly indicates both the main deity being worshipped and the temple's location.
