Built in 1924, Kaohsiung's Wude Hall (Zhenwu Hall) stands as the highest administrative-level and earliest surviving Wude Hall in Taiwan. Its stunning blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles, characterized by red brick construction, arrow-target motif wall decorations, and the hip-and-gable roof structure at the entrance, evoke a sense of awe. Once a site embodying the spirit of martial valor, the restored and revitalized Wude Hall is no longer merely a venue for promoting martial virtues. Instead, it has become a new hub for Taiwanese-Japanese cultural exchange, inviting residents and travelers to jointly experience the East Asian ambiance within Kaohsiung's historical context.
