Madam Xu, the mother of Qiu Lianggong, was the wife of General Qiu Zhiwen of the Qing Dynasty. Not long after Qiu Lianggong's first month, his father Qiu Zhiwen passed away. At a young age, Madam Xu raised Qiu Lianggong with great effort. After Qiu Lianggong grew up, he joined the military and gradually rose from a low-ranking soldier to a general. After Qiu Lianggong was promoted to the commander of the Zhejiang naval and land forces in the 14th year of Jiaqing, he petitioned the emperor to honor his mother, Madam Xu. The Emperor Renzong praised her and conferred on her the title of "a first-rank lady." A memorial arch was also built to commend her for her loyalty and for raising her son. This memorial arch was built in 1812, made of high-quality granite and slate. The delicate carvings on it record the story of Qiu Lianggong's success and his return to his hometown, as well as couplets written by famous people, leaving a deep impression on people.
