The Xin-hua Street Office (old town hall), completed in 1934, is the only building south of Changhua that imitates European architectural styles from the Renaissance era. In 2002, it was officially registered as a historical site in Tainan County. In 2000, it was moved 300 meters away as part of a major relocation project ("乾坤大挪移"), and in 2002, it was relocated back to its original site with the help of "magical power". To preserve the original appearance of the street office, experts and scholars designed a structural reinforcement and restoration plan, and all renovation work was completed in 2005. The site was revitalized and leased for operation as the "1934 Ancient Monument Café".
