The region boasts abundant plant and animal ecological resources, making it an ideal setting for a two‑day intensive tour. The mountainside village is mainly inhabited by the Atayal people and is the largest Atayal settlement in the Lishan area. Today, most villagers rely on fruit cultivation as their main source of income. The “Atayal Cultural Heritage Museum” in the village displays Atayal weaving crafts and old photographs, and also features the wooden houses and granaries once used by the village chiefs—historical relics that are well worth a visit. In recent years the village has planted many wisteria vines; during spring the purple flower spikes sway in the breeze, attracting numerous tourists up the mountain to admire the blossoms.
