The first feminist specialty bookstore in the Chinese-speaking world, it was formed by a group of women's movement workers and people who care about gender equality issues. The store collects the most complete books and audio-visual products on women's and gender issues in the Chinese-speaking world. It is hoped that it can provide a comfortable place to see women's writing, hear women's voices, and exchange women's experiences. The bookstore often holds talks, exhibitions and other activities. In 1996, it established the Women's Book and Culture, which is an indispensable gender issue space in Taiwan.
