In 1884, the construction of Taipei City was completed. At that time, the Sino-French War was ongoing. The governor Liu Mingchuan came to Taiwan to oversee military and political affairs, stationed in the Taipei City, planned and built the city's government offices, schools, and laid out railways, established postal services and telecommunication systems, laying the foundation for the emerging Taipei. After that, during the Japanese occupation, the Taipei City walls were built and then dismantled, and with the restoration, it gradually became prosperous, becoming the leading city in Taiwan.
Four bronze sculptures represent historical and modern figures such as Liu Mingchuan, who planned and observed the development of Taipei City. One city relief sculpture replicates the streets of Taipei after the city's establishment, presenting the landscape of the past, which was simple and beautiful. Taipei, between the past and the present, is our city, and its history is worth cherishing and carefully examining.

Bronze sculptures:
1. Liu Mingchuan (132CM, seated): Holding a coffee cup, sipping and conversing with modern people about Taipei City.
2. Designer (175CM, standing): A city planner, standing on the street talking with Liu Mingchuan.
3. Young couple (168CM, standing): Leisurely holding a mobile phone, taking selfies with the city relief sculpture as the background.
City relief sculpture (300CM*300CM): Based on the "Map of Taipei, Dadaocheng, and Wanhua, 1895."
