Ah Tsai's Store - The Old Taiwan Atmosphere of the 1950s

Ah Tsai's Store, the owner is not actually called "Ah Tsai," but rather it's meant to imply "a little bit crazy."

This is a place where people drink from large bowls, eat large pieces of meat, and talk loudly. One must be a little bit crazy to be so carefree and unreserved. The owner then took a bottle of Taiwan beer, loudly called out to bring two dishes of good food, and started to sing two lines: "Ah Tsai, Ah Tsai, something fell from the sky..." It turns out that the store's name comes from this old Taiwanese song. In the 1970s, before the lifting of the martial law, a group of drinking buddies, in order to vent their inner frustrations, could not be driven away even in the middle of the night, so they decided to open this store together.

Posters of movies from the 1950s and 1960s, old photos taken by Zhang Chao-tang, ancestral tables, and original classic Taiwanese songs... all recreate the beautiful times of that old era. Many veteran figures in the arts and cultural circles, as well as people from the opposition, have come here, leaving behind many stories. Thus, the owner also wants to preserve these memories for them; however, this old-fashioned atmosphere continues to tell stories of the new generation, continuing everything according to the mood of the moment...

Yet, the famous dish "Ox Tripe Delight," which takes time to stew the ox's tendons, stomach, and flanks, is certainly not taken lightly...
