Taiwan Happy Farm is a free public garden offering a small animal sanctuary, making it a family-friendly attraction. Covering an expansive area of 45 hectares, visitors are advised to bring shade-providing items or to apply sunscreen as covered areas are limited. The park is filled with a variety of flowers, creating a breathtaking tapestry of colors during the blooming season. Admission is free, and the park is open to visitors throughout the day. Upon entering the park, a marble sculpture of indigenous tribal totems can be immediately observed. Throughout the premises, artistic stone carvings crafted by Hualien’s renowned stone sculptors are displayed, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the artistic ambiance. The most captivating feature of the park is the numerous small animals found throughout; these animals are friendly and easy to approach. Paid horseback riding experiences are available. Although sika deer are separated by wooden fencing, they still actively interact with visitors. Feeding the deer requires purchasing food from the nearby paddock. Despite its seemingly compact size, a leisurely stroll around the entire park, fully appreciating its scenery, would require about a half-day. The "Dream Stone Square" within the park overlooks the Pacific Ocean and also offers prime vantage points for sunrises and sunsets. A planned scenic coastal cycling trail is integrated into the design, providing a refreshing ride against the ocean breeze. What makes this park especially unique is its location at the estuary of a river and surrounding sandbar filled with abundant ecological resources. Continuing along the shoreline reveals a rich diversity of intertidal creatures and wading birds, transforming the area into a restorative sanctuary with therapeutic allure.
