Founded in 1953, it was originally a general store and bakery. Starting from the second generation, it transformed into a wagashi (Japanese confectionery) shop. In Japanese, "kashi" refers to various snacks, including traditional Japanese confections such as dorayaki, yatsuhashi, and mochi, known as "wagashi," and Western-style confections such as mille-feuille, pudding, and cake rolls, known as "yōgashi." It also created Chinese confections such as pineapple cakes, egg yolk cakes, and red bean paste cakes. Each of the three types of confections has its own unique characteristics. Another feature is the insistence on self-made fillings, using locally produced ingredients in Taiwan such as Otsukayu red beans, Changhua mugwort, Alishan tea leaves, and Taitung glutinous rice, combined with traditional Japanese confectionery techniques. Even amidst today's competitive baking industry, it remains strong and enduring.
