花蓮縣吉安鄉豐濱鄉臺11線31公里處
Bako Overlook is located at 32 km along Provincial Highway 11, an elevated vantage point that commands a rare view along this coastal route. Looking south from the platform, one can observe Izusa Bay, Kuho Promontory, and Xinsha Sea Cliffs, a series of consecutive, distinctive coastal landscapes. Several coin-operated telescopes are available for visitors to enjoy clearer sightseeing. On calm evenings with setting suns, small fishing vessels returning to harbor can be seen. Facing south, the small hill on the southern side of Izusa Bay and its volcanic crater become clearly visible. The local Tourism Bureau's East Coast National Scenic Area has established a rest area here, surrounded by many shaded trees and elegant flower gardens. The area features spacious parking lot and clean restrooms. A small indigenous-themed shop operates nearby, showcasing the owner's artistic creations, driftwood toys, and various indigenous handicrafts. It offers both hot and cold beverages, light meals, stewed delicacies (luwe), drinks, and coffee. Simple wooden tables and chairs are available for visitors to rest and enjoy their meals.
