Taiwanese contemporary sculptor Ju Ming chose an area in Jinshan, known for its beautiful mountains and waters, to plan an 11-hectare art park. The park features his significant works from different periods, presented according to the varying terrain, and was completed in 1999 as a modern and humanistic art district. Initially, Ju Ming intended to solve the storage problem for his large-scale works, but the inspiration from nature and his artistic temperament led him to build a place to showcase his lifelong masterpieces and provide a space for other artists to express their creativity. The outdoor sculptures are divided into three main areas: the Tai Chi Plaza, the Human Plaza, and the Sports Plaza. The Tai Chi Plaza is the largest exhibition area, showcasing the most original and culminating works of his career. Standing in this expansive plaza, one can experience the grandeur of the massive bronze sculptures and feel a sense of unity with nature, embodying the essence of Tai Chi. Additionally, the main pyramid-shaped building of the art museum is itself a dynamic work of art. Inside, it displays Ju Ming's two-dimensional works, wood carvings, and ceramic pieces, as well as works and documents from his mentors, Li Jinquan and Yang Yingfeng. The Ju Ming Museum offers a vast exhibition environment unrestricted by space, allowing artistic expressions to be presented in a more diverse manner, providing visitors with ample opportunities to engage with art, from indoor to outdoor settings, where both dynamic and static art pieces can be appreciated. Furthermore, there is a "Children's Art Center" specifically designed for kids, featuring an art experience room, an experimental exhibition hall, a water play pool, and a "Big Mouth" children's restaurant. This makes it an ideal destination for families with children, catering to their needs for art experiences, performances, play, and dining. Spanning over 30,000 square meters, it is the largest park museum in Taiwan. Including both indoor and outdoor areas, the museum houses over a thousand of Ju Ming's exquisite artworks, making it a perfect place for visitors and families to spend an entire day. The Ju Ming Museum is open for lawn activities from May to October and is closed for grass maintenance from November to April.
