The Danshui Climate Observatory was built in 1937 and officially opened in 1941. During the Japanese rule, it was one of the important observation stations in the northern region, and was then known as the "Danshui Outpost". It has been faithfully recording the climate changes in the Danshui area over the years. The Danshui Climate Observatory is located above the Bizaijiao Water Airport. Originally, it was an aviation meteorological observatory affiliated with the Danshui Water Aerodrome during the Japanese colonial era. In addition to observing the weather, it also handled the observation of coastal tidal changes. It is currently under the jurisdiction of the Meteorological Agency. Every winter, when the cold air from the north moves south, the meteorological report shows the lowest temperature in the northern region, which is actually from the Danshui Climate Observatory, a representative reference point. It is currently a municipally designated historic site. Special note: This historic site currently only announces "the land parcel number and area where the site is located". The historic building, which was to be designated, was destroyed and lost before the designation, leaving only the foundation. Therefore, only the land parcel number and area where the site is located are announced. The white exterior building currently seen has not been designated as a historic site.
