The Cultural Asset Park of the Ministry of Culture, covering an area of 5.6 hectares, was formerly a privately-owned "Taisho Brewing Company" established in 1916 during the Japanese colonial period. After the Japanese government implemented a liquor monopoly system in 1922, it was taken over by the government and became the largest brewing factory in Taiwan in 1928. After Taiwan's recovery in 1945, the winery was renamed twice as "Taichung Winery" and "Fifth Winery". In 1947, the government changed the tobacco and liquor monopoly to a public sale, and it was taken over by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Monopoly Bureau. In 1957, it was renamed "Taiwan Provincial Tobacco and Liquor Monopoly Bureau Taichung Winery". As time changed and in response to the development of Taichung City's urban planning, Taichung Winery moved to a new factory in Taichung Industrial Zone in 1998, leaving behind a large industrial heritage site and historical buildings. In July 2002, the Taichung City Government registered the main buildings in the entire area as historical buildings, and the old winery was preserved intact. Today, it has developed into one of the five cultural and creative industry parks of the Ministry of Culture. The old Taichung Winery has been revitalized from an industrial heritage site to a cultural and creative industry promotion base. The old Taichung Winery, after the winery moved to a new factory in Taichung Industrial Zone, left behind a large industrial heritage and historical buildings, which is enough to witness the development history of Taiwan's brewing industry from the Japanese colonial period to the present. In July 2002, it was registered as a historical building by the Taichung City Government, and the National Property Bureau transferred the ownership of the 5.6-hectare land and buildings to the Council for Cultural Affairs, Executive Yuan. This made it possible for the old site of Taichung Winery to be preserved intact and to be planned as one of the five creative cultural parks - "Taichung Cultural and Creative Industry Park" as a promotion base for Taiwan's cultural and creative industry, positioning itself as a center for Taiwan's architecture, design, and art exhibitions. In addition, the central competent authority for cultural assets across Taiwan, the Cultural Asset Administration of the Ministry of Culture, is also located here. Its policy promotion goal is to effectively combine local governments, universities, civil organizations, and community organizations to shape a complete cultural asset protection network, construct an ecosystem that fits the development of cultural assets, and promote international cooperation in cultural asset preservation. Now, each pavilion has a new identity. The Weishui Building, which was once a packaging material warehouse, is now the location of the park's library. The Yatang Building, originally a finished liquor warehouse and semi-finished liquor storage, is now a multi-functional large exhibition hall. The International Performance Hall, located at the corner of the Central Square, was previously used for packaging and now exhibits various types of exhibitions, showing its ambition to move towards internationalization. There are 21 buildings located in the park, waiting for you to visit. The park floor plan is shown below. Tourism Information: 1.
