嘉義縣民雄鄉豐收村148之ㄧ號
The Five-Grain King is the Great Emperor Shennong. Taiwan is a nation built on agriculture, mainly cultivating rice and other grains. The Five-Grain Deity, revered for promoting grain production, has earned the respect and admiration of later generations. Every year, on the 26th day of the fourth lunar month—his birthday—the festival is held with great solemnity and festivity. This shrine was established during the Kangxi reign of the Qing dynasty, and it has a history spanning several hundred years. Originally, local villagers built the Five-Grain King temple to pray for abundant harvests, and today it remains a bustling place of worship. Much of the land donated by the temple was used as the campus site for National Chung Cheng University.
