The brothers Wang Jia-Yi and Wang Shui-Cheng, who opened the culinary scene in Shenkeng Old Street, initially ran a noodle stall near a temple. Later, the younger brother's store, "Wang Shui-Cheng Tofu King," became famous far and wide, while the older brother, Wang Jia-Yi, with his exceptional culinary skills, also made a name for himself with "Jia-Yi Pavilion" on the old street, thanks to his tofu dishes. The tofu in Shenkeng is cooked in a unique way that avoids removing the bean curd's skin, and after boiling, when it settles at the bottom and slightly caramelizes, it develops a distinctive aroma. Dishes like braised tofu and tofu soup have a soft, smooth texture that is highly recommended by food enthusiasts.
