"Doulan Sugar Factory 61" was originally Doulan Living Room - "Doulan Sugar Factory Cafe", which was often used as a gathering place for local residents and artists in Doulan. However, due to its age, the building's structural pillars and foundation gradually deteriorated, causing the building to tilt and the roof to leak. The current owner of Doulan Sugar Factory 61, "Jiang Jie", took over and actively renovated the structurally unsound building. On the other hand, she rethought the new direction of the old building. After reopening in late 2014, the building's original skeleton structure from the Japanese colonial era was recreated, and local artists were invited to assist in the design. The restaurant's theme concept revolves around "brown sugar". The menu offers Chinese dishes, drinks, desserts, and souvenirs. Whether in terms of visual or taste, the goal is to connect with the local sugar industry of the past and present a "retro" style. In the summer, a variety of brown sugar-flavored ice products will be launched. On lively weekend nights, this place continues the artistic spirit of the former "Doulan Sugar Factory Cafe" by inviting local music creators to perform outdoors, allowing everyone to experience the innovative atmosphere of the old house.
