The oldest military dependents' village in Taiwan, Duxing Village 10 was originally the officer quarters of the Penghu Island Fortress Headquarters and the Mako Heavy Artillery Battalion during the Japanese rule. After World War II, it was taken over by the National Government and renamed as "Duxing Village 10" for the officer quarters of the Penghu Defense Headquarters. In 2006, after the dependents' village residents completed their relocation, the Cultural Bureau transformed it into a military dependents' village cultural park. The park preserves the unique humanistic atmosphere and natural landscape, and becomes the "Duxing Village 10 Military Dependents' Village Cultural Park". Today, some of the houses are renovated and planned as inns. The surrounding buildings and streets have been renovated and rebuilt. A scenic area, shops, and numerous characteristic attractions and stores are planned. Some spaces are decorated with colorful murals and furnishings, with nostalgic tables, chairs, bicycles, and motorcycles, making it a popular spot for taking photos. Visitors can not only stay and experience the military dependents' village architecture but also participate in arts and cultural events planned by the park, which are often held during festivals. Duxing Village 10 was once the residence of several famous people, such as Pan Anbang and Chang Yu-sheng, who grew up in this military dependents' village and sang the popular song "Grandma's Penghu Bay". Their former residences have been transformed into art exhibition spaces, "Chang Yu-sheng Story House" and "Pan Anbang Memorial Hall", adding a richer cultural connotation to the military dependents' village. 【Suggested stay time】2.5 hours
