Renzhiguan is a narrow gorge in the upper reaches of Meixi Valley, lying between the Daguan Bridge and Ren’ai Bridge along the Puwu Highway. Within just a few hundred meters, sheer cliffs and towering crags rise on both sides. According to legend, disputes once broke out between indigenous peoples and Han settlers; to keep the conflict from spreading, the authorities set up this checkpoint near Meixi.
