As Jingtong is the last station on the Pingxi Line, it appears more serene compared to the bustling areas of Shifen and Pingxi. The Japanese-style, wooden Jingtong Train Station, located near the old street, exudes a strong nostalgic atmosphere, making it a popular location for filming advertisements and movies, as well as a destination for many domestic and international travelers who come to take photos.
Travelers who arrive by train will first see the Jingtong Train Station, which was built in 1929 and designated as a historic site in 2003. This station used to be an important facility for transporting coal, and across from it is a precious mining relic - the coal washing plant. The tall coal washing plant has been transformed into a coffee shop, where visitors can grab a cup of coffee and learn about Jingtong's mining history.
Nearby, visitors can explore the "Jingtong Electronic Sky Lantern Museum", the only one in the world with a sky lantern theme, as well as the "Railway Story House", which is a must-visit for railway enthusiasts. Additionally, visitors can write down their wishes on a bamboo tube, leaving their mark on their travels to Jingtong.
