The Lin Chih‑Chu Memorial Hall was established in 1928. Its predecessor was the faculty dormitory affiliated with Taichung Normal School, and it also served as the former residence of Professor Lin Chih‑Chu, the father of lacquer painting. The building preserves its original architectural structure and bears witness to the development of the urban area along the Liu River, while also documenting Professor Lin’s lifelong teaching and creative journey. After a restoration completed in 2015, the hall opened to the public free of charge and is currently managed and operated by National Taichung University of Education with its own funding.
