Welcome to the Da’an Wenhsiaoliao Mangrove Forest, home to the Da’an Ecological Education Park. The park is located in a pond on the south bank of the Wenhsiaoliao Creek. The Da’an water shield, a rare and precious plant endemic to Taiwan, can be found here. However, its population is extremely limited, making conservation and breeding efforts essential. In Wenhsiaoliao Mangrove Forest, you can observe various mangrove plants, including the Kandelia obovata, the fiddler crab (specifically, the white-clawed fiddler crab and the semi-terrestrial fiddler crab), the mudskipper, the little egret, and the cattle egret. The mangrove forest offers opportunities for tree appreciation, bird watching, and crab observation, allowing visitors to engage in activities that bring them closer to nature. Approximately 600 meters north of the mangrove forest lies one of the most popular seaside resorts in central Taiwan - the Da’an Beach.
