The world-renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theatre from Taiwan, which lost its original rehearsal space in Bali due to a devastating fire in 2008, collaborated with the New Taipei City Government to transform the former Central Broadcasting System (CBS) Tamsui Station site into the new Cloud Gate Theatre. The venue officially opened on April 24, 2015. Nestled between the Tamsui Golf Course and the Huwei Fort, the Cloud Gate Theatre offers stunning views of Guanyin Mountain and the Tamsui River estuary. The building's soft green glass facade harmoniously blends with the surrounding tall trees, creating a serene green landscape. The theatre regularly hosts ticketed performances, which can be checked online, and offers guided tours by prior appointment. The grounds also feature numerous art installations, including internationally acclaimed works by sculptor Ju Ming, such as his "Hometown Series," "Tai Chi Series," and "Humanity Series." Additionally, the Tree House Bookstore within the complex combines a bookstore and café, offering carefully curated Cloud Gate publications and unique dance-inspired merchandise. Visitors can enjoy hand-drawn coffee and exclusive solar-brewed beer while exploring. Adjacent to the lotus pond, the Flower Language Restaurant serves delicious dim sum, exquisite new tea creations, and the world-renowned oolong pearl milk tea, all waiting to be savored. The main building of the Cloud Gate Theatre is particularly striking, with its soft green glass facade reflecting the surrounding trees, blending aesthetics with eco-friendly energy efficiency. For photography, it is recommended to capture the green-tinted glass against the azure sky.
