The boss said that her husband, who came to Taiwan from Fujian, settled in Hsinchu and learned to make ai sui mi (rice flour cakes) from the locals. He further improved the recipe by adjusting the ratio of rice flour to sweet potato flour, resulting in ai sui mi with both texture and rice fragrance. The shop's name originated from the previously operated "Da Qian Electric Appliance Store", which was retained and eventually led to the establishment of Da Qian Ice Store.
