■ The public restroom at the North Cross-Island Highway Visitor Center will be temporarily closed from June 1, 2025, to November 30, 2025, due to internal renovation and upgrades to the sanitary facilities. As the first stop for visitors entering the North Cross-Island Highway mountain area, the center not only provides travel information and itinerary arrangements but also introduces the historical stories of the North Cross-Island Highway, particularly Chiang Ching-kuo's life and his contributions to the region and Taiwan. Visitors can observe various artifacts and interactive devices here, experiencing not only the natural beauty of the North Cross-Island Highway but also gaining a deeper understanding of Taiwan's former leaders and how they guided the island through challenges toward prosperity. The first-floor exhibition, themed "The Starting Point of North Cross-Island Highway," highlights the unique features of the mountain area and Taixi's wooden craft. Using the LINE@ official account and new media installations, visitors can explore North Cross-Island Highway's attractions through diverse perspectives and methods, appreciating its charm and preserving its memory. The second-floor exhibition, titled "Shouldering Heavy Burdens and Walking Hard Paths," focuses primarily on Chiang Ching-kuo and the Ten Major Construction Projects he promoted, showcasing developments in politics, economy, and diplomacy since the 1970s that overcame difficulties to drive progress. Through artifacts and interactive experiences, visitors can broadly explore the historical transformations of Taiwan.
