ASEAN Square (formerly known as First Square), next to Taichung Railway Station on Lüchuan West Street, is a 13-story multi-purpose leisure and entertainment complex surrounded by Taiwan Boulevard Section 1, Jiguang Street, Chenggong Road, and Lüchuan West Street. Located in the station-front commercial district, it houses an underground parking garage, boutiques, a food court, cinema (First Cinema), KTV, video arcade, billiards club, bowling alley, roller rink, folk-song Western restaurant, and more, making it a popular hangout for youths and migrant workers. Nearby are Taichung Station, Taichung Park, and the Taichung Prefectural Hall. Thanks to its concentration of Southeast-Asian shops, it is now nicknamed “Little Southeast Asia in Taichung.” Around ASEAN Square, diverse streets converge, including the Electronics Street, Jiguang Street, and the nostalgic Herbal Medicine Street on Chenggong Road.
