The entrance image of the Lujiao Garment Shopping District, established in 2012, brings a new atmosphere to the area. Located in the Shalu District of Taichung City, on streets such as Jinhua, Laiyi, and Jinyi, the Lujiao Garment Shopping District has a history dating back to the early days of "carrying and selling cloth on shoulder poles." At that time, many merchants selling raw cloth did not have storefronts and would carry their goods on shoulder poles, calling out to customers as they walked. Gradually, some vendors began to piece together leftover fabric to create children's shorts, commonly known as "jie zi ku" or "patchwork pants." As the business grew, garment factories began to sprout up around Guangrong Street, Fu'an Street, Guangzheng Street, Furen Street, and Chenggong East Street. Over time, the Lujiao Garment Shopping District took shape north of these factories. The Lujiao Garment Shopping District, which is quite famous in the Taichung area, has around 200 shops and has been in existence for nearly 50 years. It is a favorite destination for many elderly women to choose their clothing. The district is highly suitable for families to visit, with its vast shopping area and friendly store owners who make customers feel like family. Visitors can try on clothes and make purchases in a relaxed and comfortable environment. There are also many adorable children's clothing that are hard to put down. When tired of shopping, families can head to nearby eateries to enjoy local delicacies.
