新北市萬里區富士坪古道
The Fuji Ancient Trail is located in Wanli District, New Taipei City. Because it runs along the southeast ridge of Dajian Mountain, it is also called the “Dajian Ancient Trail.” Dajian Mountain is a conical volcanic remnant that closely resembles Japan’s Mount Fuji, hence the nickname “Little Mount Fuji,” which is the origin of the name “Fuji” for the ancient trail. At the entrance to the trail stands a stele detailing its history. It was carved out during the Japanese colonial period as ranching areas expanded around Huangzuishan, providing a mountain path for local herders and linking the Yulu and Wanxi ancient trails. To reach the trailhead of the Fuji-Ping Ancient Trail, take the Gugang Shangwanxi Road, pass Fenggui Mouth, turn left after Lingshan Temple, cross the No. 5 Xidi Bridge to Daping Xidi Branch School, then climb the northwest ridge of Dajian Mountain from the school gate and follow the stream. The vast grassland at the end of the Fuji Ancient Trail on Dajian Mountain is known as “Fuji-Ping.”
