The Huanxi pedestrian scenic bridge is a crucial facility for improving the overall environment of Huanxi drainage. It is 48 m long and 4.5 m wide, designed to resemble the iconic “King’s Bridge” style of Cambridge University, and is constructed with stone and faux‑wood materials. Nighttime lighting is installed to create a seamless recreational path for residents of Dali District and Nangang District, enhancing the riverbank’s character and local highlights. The Kangqiao of Xingda is located behind National Chung Cheng University on Huanxi. It was built as part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Water Resources Administration “Kangqiao Project”, aimed at creating a leisure river comparable to the English “King’s Bridge”, providing citizens with a waterfront attraction. The plan includes a flood‑retention park, bicycle lane, resting platform, activity plaza, artificial wetland, and scenic bridge—spaces that incorporate natural ecology, energy savings, carbon reduction, and community participation. These features create a multifunctional, high‑quality environment around the waterway, enhancing the aesthetic and vitality of the area’s drainage. Walking, exercising, fishing, picnicking, kayaking, watching street performers… the beautiful waterfront Kangqiao has become an indispensable stress‑relief space in the daily lives of surrounding residents.
