新竹縣湖口鄉民生街120號
Located in a bustling district, the magnificent temple of Xian Sheng stands tall, with majestic architecture and a grand entrance flanked by two ancient-style pavilions. As you step through the pavilions and onto the spacious temple grounds, you're surrounded by concrete houses on either side. A theatrical stage situated between the two pavilions serves as a venue for festivities and celebrations. At the entrance of San Chuan Gate, a pair of stone lions guard the premises. As you ascend the corridor leading to San Chuan Hall, the walls on either side showcase intricately carved stone artistry. Upon entering the hall, you're greeted by a serene atmosphere, with the main hall appearing mysterious and awe-inspiring due to the interplay of light and shadows. The left-side hall houses administrative offices, while the right-side hall features shrines dedicated to Yue Fei, Bao Gong, and the deities of loyal scholars. Turning left from the side hall, you're met with a sight of splendor and grandeur as you face the main hall. Every detail exudes an air of solemnity and meticulous attention. The main deity enshrined is the revered Mother, accompanied by the Note-taking Goddess on the left and the Nine Heavens Mysterious Female on the right. The second floor is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, with accompanying shrines for Guan Di and Confucius, adorned with simple yet elegant decor. The Xian Sheng Temple celebrates its annual festival on the 23rd day of the third lunar month, commemorating the Sacred Mother's birthday. This grand event is organized by the believers from four neighboring townships on a rotational basis.
