Zaiming Temple, currently designated as one of the 30 municipal historic sites in Taoyuan, features an adjacent ancient path built around 1923. This trail served as the essential route for worshippers traveling to the temple and is now one of the three major ancient paths in the Western Taoyuan region (the other two are the Yusheng Road Ancient Path and the Panlongqizhi Ancient Path). The stone-paved road's materials were sourced from the Dahan River, meticulously carved and laid by workers employed by Master Jiang Lianzhi (monk name Puhai), the fourth-generation descendant of Zaiming Temple's founder, Mr. Li A-jia. Climbing the densely arranged stone steps, one can imagine the former pilgrimage scene where devotees crossed by boat and prostrated themselves on their way to the temple, evoking a deep sense of cultural immersion. At the connection point with Taoyuan County Road 64, a stone archway quietly stands, inscribed with the words: "The stream's sounds day and night seek the shore of the path, the winding wheels of pilgrims embrace the gate of sages." A century of history seems to pause at this moment. The tranquil forest path features towering ancient trees and gently trickling streams, with cool clarity entering the heart. Gazing down from above, one of the historic "Eight Scenes of Daxi," "Kanjing Return Sail," may no longer be visible, yet a profound sense of nostalgia remains. Walking this century-old path provides a fresh perspective to retrace the elegance of Daxi's history, offering a unique pleasure of exploring hidden relics and ancient charm.
