One of the three fortresses of Lieyu, the Brave Fortress covers a large area. To enter the fortress, one must cross a small bridge, a three-meter-deep ditch, and a long slope. Behind the camouflage net is the large gate marked with the words "Brave Fortress." The multiple checkpoints reflect the tense atmosphere at that time when Lieyu was at the front line. The Brave Fortress is divided into two levels. The upper level mainly includes the gun emplacement, the Zhongshan Room, and the bedroom; the underground part has eight machine gun emplacements, four ammunition depots, and a fire water pool. The most special feature is a tank emplacement. Inside the fortress, there are underground tunnels stretching hundreds of meters, connecting the main underground military facilities, and also linking to the Iron Fortress, which is also open to tourists. The connecting passage has been renovated into a landmine exhibition hall, allowing visitors to experience the feeling of moving underground.
