The story begins with Li Chunxin, a former information engineer who pursued further studies in art at Coventry University in the UK. During his time abroad, he was often asked about his hometown and culture, which inspired him to explore and discover the beauty of Taiwanese culture. Ten years ago, Li established his personal studio in a small village in Xinpu, where he began to learn about traditional Taiwanese life. He became interested in water buffalo farming and decided to raise water buffalo to experience the traditional farming methods that are more environmentally friendly. Li's passion for water buffalo farming led him to establish the Water Buffalo School, where he teaches people, especially children, about the importance of water buffalo in Taiwanese culture. The school offers a range of activities, including one-day camps and winter and summer camps, where students can learn about water buffalo farming, natural farming methods, and traditional crafts. Through his art, Li combines his love of water buffalo farming with his passion for art. He uses water buffalo ropes as a medium for drawing, creating unique and expressive lines that reflect the movement and energy of the water buffalo. The Water Buffalo School has become a platform for Li to promote the value of water buffalo in Taiwanese culture. He hopes to revive the fading water buffalo culture and encourage people to appreciate the importance of nature and the land.
